Muslin # 3 is a winner

Having spent so much time on preparing a block you would think that I would have put it to better use up to now. I guess life has a way of getting too busy at times, but I am now finished with muslin # 3 of the banded tunic.

I used Kathleen's instructions a few months ago to prepare the saran wrap model and retrofitted Phoebe. She didn't know what hit her, poor thing. Pictures to come since it is a fascinating process and Kathleen is a genius.

Next, I found some detailed drafting instructions in a vintage pattern making handbook. It was time consuming and measurement intensive but yielded an accurate and surprisingly useful block. It is a tape-on system, useful and a great drafting exercise.

I have cut out my fashion fabric and interfaced it. The tunic will come together in the next few days and then I'll sit down and document this process for myself here. It is a lovely onionskin and the lining is, of all things, coolmax. I don't know if it will work, but cross your fingers for me!
