Jacket situation
After consulting with AnneM about my wrap shirt collar not working too well with the jacket in my SWAP storyboard, I'm considering switching out the jacket for a different style.
How frustrating! I can't find something that will work with the collars on my shirts and compliment the white linen skirt. The jackets I found today have lapels with princess seaming, but shouldn't the skirt continue that vertical seaming? I adore the skirt style I chose (love love love it) so I don't want to change the skirt.
How about this idea. How about if I change the neckline on the jacket to a deep V, and add three buttons, plus add topstitching on the skirt to extend the line vertically? Or better yet, do the button placket on the skirt the same way the jacket is done? Yeah!
Like this... does it look weird or doable?
This shows the ensemble (including wrap collar):

I think that works. Nancy Erickson has a basic jacket and then separate patterns available to alter it. One of the versions looks similar to what you've done here. It is a very versatile piece. (still on my to do list)

I like the idea! I think it will work fine!

Thanks! I came back to look at it again and just can't get past the cardigan feel to the line drawing now that I changed the neckline.
Perhaps a cardigan would be the way to go. Quite honestly, it is hot here in Texas and a spring/summer jacket doesn't make sense, much less a cardigan. KWIM?
I'm going to continue puzzling over it as I dig into work on the rest of the SWAP pieces!

Yes, I also think this will work. Your fabric (linen) will prevent it from looking too much like a cardigan.
If you still aren't happy w/ this jacket, have you considered something like the one Linda has in her SWAP? It has a v-neck, raglan sleeves, & I think it's really cute. The hardest part of your SWAP & a v-neck jacket is the NM pattern w/ the high neck, but as I commented before the keyhole neckline I think will make it work.
As a completely different idea, you could also consider a campshirt in a sheer.

Looks like a good solution to me!
