Ubercool trench -fall 2007
The season of the trenchcoat is upon us. For some reason, this year seems to stand out in my mind as the year to finally breakdown and make one. Two sewalongs could be part of the reason. One sewalong has been going on in a Yahoo group for a while but I just found it tonight thanks to Vonne. Another sewalong was started on Pattern Review earlier this evening. Yay for sewalongs.
Another reason could be due to the Ubershine Trench Coat shown here in the not-sure-its-my-color-but-way-uber-cool silver ($176, whitehouseblackmarket.com)... I keep coming back to this one.
Whatever the reason, this is the year! Simplicity 4084 looks like a good starting point to create my own ubercute trench. Just need to find the perfect shiny fabric. Don't miss the Style.com in-depth feature, Anatomy of a Classic: The Trench.

I know you said you found your pattern, but I just wanted to mention that McCall released a new trench coat pattern yesterday that is pretty cute - 5525. I would love to join one of these sew alongs! But I'm going to stick with the 5 or sew projects I've got lined up..!

I bought the fabric I asked you about and it arrived just fine. Then I bought the McCall pattern, 5525. I'm not sure what to do about lining, so I'm stuck LOL. The fabric is gorgeous!!! thanks
